Thomas Egan Dancer | Choreographer Sydney, Australia

A founding creative and performer in the international hit show The Tap Pack, Thomas has helped shape the show from its inception to the world stage. The Tap Pack has earned two Green Room Award nominations (Excellence in Choreography and Best Musical), an Australian Dance Award nomination, and has toured extensively—including seasons on London’s West End, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (multiple sell-outs), Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Arts Centre, Berlin’s TIPI am Kanzleramt and Beijing’s Super Theatre.

Thomas added choreography to Hughman, starring Hugh Sheridan - which premiered at the Adelaide Fringe and has continued touring across Australia. He also created and stars in his debut solo work Two Right Feet, a personal and inventive tap show blending Jazz, entertainment and tap dance.

Thomas began his career as a commercial dancer, performing for top-tier Australian artists including Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Timomatic, and Jessica Mauboy, as well as TV appearances on X-Factor, Australia’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, and Channel V. He was a featured dancer in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, and toured internationally with Tap Dogs, performing throughout Australia, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE - including for an audience of over 500 million during China’s Spring Gala broadcast. His musical theatre credits include Singin’ in the Rain and Fame the Musical (The Production Company), working with celebrated choreographer Kelley Abbey.

In 2016, Thomas founded The Tap Project Australia—a multifaceted tap dance initiative producing high-quality performance work, masterclasses, choreography commissions, and dance films. It includes a youth development team and a professional arm providing electrifying tap performances for corporate events, festivals and live shows across the country.

Thomas also created Street Feet, a high-energy street-style tap show, and has produced works for Slide Nightclub, Wendy Brown Productions, SMA, Short+Sweet, the Great Australasian Beer Festival, and Paramount’s first birthday celebrations.

He trained under his mother Sharon Lawrence, with Barbara Lynch, and at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS). A child actor in The Boy From Oz, Gypsy, Oliver!, and Singin’ in the Rain, Thomas grew up in the theatre. He later honed his craft under Robert Sturrock and trained in Los Angeles, specialising in hip hop and tap.

Thomas continues to evolve as a creative force -developing new works that fuse rhythm, character, and innovation.
